I’m an only child, Daddy’s girl. A lover of words, books, great music and cats. I’m a wife, a daughter, a friend, and Aunt MeMe to the greatest nieces and nephews on the planet.
I love writing words that move people, and singing songs of hope. I love inspiring women, giving them tools to live their best life, and being a cheerleader to those who need a boost of encouragement.
I’ve been married to Jim since 1993, when we were both naive enough to believe adulting would be easy. We met, as kids, at a conference where both of our families were singing, and were “just friends” for many years. Then, in our early 20’s, we were both singing at the same event, where I blushed and laughed, a lot, and then called my Dad to tell him Jim was “THE ONE.” Now, we sing together, write songs together and travel the world sharing the hope that’s found in our music. Life is often hectic and crazy, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
I’ve been blessed to live out some of my biggest dreams, traveling and singing in over 40 states, as well as Europe, Mexico, Canada, Sweden, Norway and so many gospel music cruises!
I’ve sung with some of my greatest heroes, on Gaither Homecoming videos, and had my songs recorded by some of the best voices of our day. I’ve gotten to sing at Brooklyn Tabernacle, First Baptist Church of Atlanta, for In Touch with Dr. Charles Stanley, The Dove Awards, Daystar’s Gospel Music Showcase, The National Quartet Convention and concert halls all across the country.
My songs have played on the radio, and landed on Gospel Music charts. I’ve had the honor of sitting in a writer’s room and crafting songs with the most amazing writers, who have become dear friends. Award nominations have surprised me, humbled me, and reminded me of why I sing.
I have the incredible privilege of hosting my own women’s event, Something Beautiful, where women from all over the US and Canada come to join other like-minded women in celebrating faith, community and authenticity. It’s my favorite weekend of the whole year!
I am so thankful for this life I live and the awesome opportunity of living out my greatest passion, reminding us all that, as is promised in Ecclesiastes 3:11, ALL THINGS, the difficult, the painful and the ugly, can be beautiful.
